Description

The list of Hadash - HaHazit HaDemocratit LeShalom Ve'Shivion (Hadash [also mwans "new") - Democratic Front for Peace and Equality) was submitted by HaMiflaga HaKomonistit HaYisraelit (The Israeli Communist Party).
It was founded in 1965 as RAKAH - Reshima Komonistit Hadsha (New Communist list) that split from MAKI - HaMiflagaHaKomonistit HaIsraelit. MAKI itself disappeared from the political map in 1973 and RAKAH took its name in 1989. In 1977 it was joined by other left wing groups to become Hadash and kept this name even after those groups had dissolved. It is led by Muhamad Baraqa and uses its veteran letter vav/waw (in both Hebrew and Arabic).
Even thou it is, officially, a Jewish-Arabic Communist Party, its main strongholds are with the Arab population. However as other Arab parties appeared on the stage, it lost ground and it was down to 2 seats in 2003 and 3 seats at 2006.
Hadash
is using red flags. There are plain red, red with white waw (party letter in Arabic) red flags with white Al-Jabh'a (The Front) as well as red flags with slogans.
